We all know that since Peyton Manning has been in the league has been arguably one of the most prolific QBs (maybe of all time).  Since he came into the NFL in 1998 he has had some monster seasons in terms of stats and numbers.  Arguably his best season statistically was in 2004 when he threw for 49 TDs and 4557 yds right?  Well this season is arguably the best start in his career and maybe better than his huge year in 2004.  Let's go through the numbers for the first 3 games of 2004 and 2010 (just taking the average numbers)

W-L     TDs    Ints   Cmp   Att   Cmp%    PassYds
2004            2-1         9        1      68     102    67           903
2010            2-1         9        0      87     126    69           1013

This comparison is clear.  He has the same TDs, more completions, more attempts, better completion percentage and more pass yards with no Ints to date!  In only one year (2000) has he has more pass yards in the first three games.  Also 2004 was the only other year he started the first 3 games with 9TDs and we all know what happened that year.

I know its early and there is a long way to go.  But Peyton Manning has been the model of consistency for a long time.  He has put up astronomical numbers.  However this year could be his best yet!

  1. You present meaningless stats.

All that matters are TDs and 1st downs thrown in scoring possessions.
